The Federal Aviation Administration announced a review for Paine Field to start commercial flights to ten US cities sometime in 2019.
They did not find any noise or air quality concerns with the additional daily flights. The public are open to suggest opinions until November 2nd.
There are 24 proposed flights from Paine Field to 10 airports:
Denver International Airport
Las Vegas McCarran International Airport
Los Angeles International Airport
Portland International Airport
Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport
San Diego International Airport
San Francisco International Airport
San Jose Mineta International Airport
John Wayne-Orange County Airport
Oakland International Airport
Alaska Airlines plans thirteen departures per day to eight destinations; United Airlines plans for six flights to two destinations; while Southwest plans to have three daily flights to Oakland and Las Vegas.
All airlines have to file a standard operating agreement and an amendment to the airport's operating certificate in order to begin service.
The new $40 million, two-gate terminal built by Propeller Airports is expected to be completed by the end of October.
