Routes News - September 9, 2018

This week in Routes News:

-Starting October 16, Air India will re-open it's Mumbai to Frankfurt route. The Indian carrier last flew this route back in 2010 on board Boeing 777-300 aircraft. This time around, the company's fleet of Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners will connect the two cities on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. The following schedule will be effective for this service resumption:

-Effective October 28, WestJet will be discontinuing all services to Mexico City. Currently WestJet's fleet of Boeing 737-700 aircraft operate to Mexico City from both Vancouver and Calgary on a daily basis. Westjet's final flight to Mexico City is scheduled for October 27.

-Starting October 28, Taiwan's China Airlines will be introducing a second daily flight on the airline's route connecting Taipei with Hanoi. This new daily route will be operated by China Airlines' fleet of Boeing 737-800 aircraft. This service will operate with the following schedule:

CI793 TPE 15:30-17:40 HAN / CI794 HAN 18:40-22:15 TPE

-Starting October 28, Avianca will be adding a new daily frequency from Bogota to Miami. This new service will be operated by Airbus A330-300 aircraft. Overall, the daily flight total will increase from three to four daily, with the new frequency operating under the following schedule:

AV126 BOG 09:15-13:04 MIA / AV127 MIA 15:24-19:00 BOG

-Starting October 28, Korean Airlines will be increasing it's Seoul to Hong Kong route from four to five daily frequencies. The new service will be operated with Korean's Boeing 737-800 aircraft, under the following schedule:

KE611 ICN 21:45-00:40+1 HKG / KE612 HKG 02:05-06:20 ICN

-Effective November 7, Alaska Airlines will no longer be offering it's twice daily service connecting Los Angeles with Mexico City. Alaska's Boeing 737-800 aircraft will operate until November 6, when the last service is scheduled.

-Starting December 19, WOW air will commence operations on a new route connecting Orlando with Reykjavik. Between December 19 and January 6, operational days for the route will vary. However, from January 7, WOW's Airbus A321 will leave Reykjavik on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with a next day return. The flight will be flown with the following schedule:

-Effective January 7, United Express will be discontinuing it's service from San Francisco to Victoria. This route will be operated by SkyWest Airlines' fleet of Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft until the final service on January 6.

-Starting June 1, 2019, LOT Polish Airlines plans to introduce a new route which will connect Warsaw with Miami. The route is scheduled to operate on board Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, with the following schedule:
