Primera Air, a Latvian lowcost airline operating several leisure routes to the Mediterranean Sea as well as transatlantic routes of of London Stansted and Paris CDG, has announced new routes out of each of Berlin Tegel and Frankfurt/Main starting in summer 2019.
The airline announced scheduled services out of Berlin to each of Newark, Boston Logan and Toronto Pearson on August 30th. Schedule sees the service to Newark starting on the 7th June, Boston on the 9th June and Toronto on the 10th June. The service to Newark will be operated daily, while Boston and Toronto are operated four times a week and three times a week, respectively.
And on the 5th of September, Primera announced flights from Frankfurt, where Primera Air will be adding one more city than in Tegel. It will launch daily flights to New York JFK on the 16th June, a four weekly service to Boston on June 21, service to Montreal will be operated three times a week starting on the 16th of July and finally a daily service to Toronto also starting on the 16th of July.
All of the services mentioned above will be operated by their new 737 MAX 9, which will be equipped with 189 seats and has a range close to 7000km. Primera Air affirms that there will be no fuel stops needed on each of their services due to the seat configuration and the fact that the airline will not be carrying cargo on the flights.
Primera has hinted at potentially adding a third German gateway to its network in the future.
