United Airlines announced that it will be introducing a new class of service- Premium Plus, earlier this year. Turns out United will be bringing Premium Plus configured aircraft into the fleet starting next month.
According to a memo United sent to it's employees, the airline's 777-200 will be the first to fly with the new Premium Plus seats. It is speculated that N796UA will be the first aircraft to enter service with the new Premium Plus seats, the aircraft has been in Xiamen since April 9th, the longest of the 3 777-200 aircraft already in Xiamen to receive the Polaris retrofit.
United said that as it rolls out Premium Plus seating on it's aircraft, the upgraded seats will be free of charge for elites to move into. As of during the rollout, the seats will essentially be priced as a Economy Plus seat.
It is still unclear how the new Premium Plus seats will affect the upgrade system that United has in place now, when the rollout nears completion.
