LATAM Brazil to Add Munich Flights from 2019

LATAM Airlines Brazil recently announced that they will add Munich to their destinations from São Paulo starting in the first half of 2019. The Bavarian capital city will be their second destination in Germany after Frankfurt Airport and their ninth destination in Europe. There is currently no information about the aircraft that will be used to operate the 13-hour long flight, possible airplanes for this long-haul flight are Airbus A350-900, Boeing 767-300ER or Boeing 777-300ER aircraft. LATAM Brasil will compete with Avianca, as the Colombian Airline announced 5 weekly flights from Bogota to Munich starting in mid-November. These two destinations will be the only connection between Munich and South America after Lufthansa decided to terminate their flights from Munich to São Paulo back in 2016.
