This week in Routes News:

  • Beggining July 14, Wizz Air will be utilizing Airbus A320 aircraft to connect Sibiu, Romania; with Tel Aviv, Israel. The service will operate on Tuesdays and Saturdays with the following schedule:

W63807 SBZ 06:00-08:50 TLV / W63808 TLV 09:40-12:40 SBZ


  • Beginning October 1, Emirates will begin flights connecting Dubai, with Edinburg, Scotland. Emirates’ Boeing 777-300ER will be given the task of flying this new daily service with the following schedule:

EK023 DXB 09:55-14:50 EDI / EK024 EDI 20:15-06:40+1 DXB


  • Beginning October 4, United Airlines will be adding a third daily flight on the carrier’s Newark to Mexico City route. United’s Boeing 737-700 will be flying the route with the following schedule:

UA2251 EWR 10:06-14:15 MEX / UA2252 MEX 11:00-17:02 EWR


  • Beginning October 29, British Airways will be resuming services to Durban, South Africa, from London’s Heathrow Airport. Durban was last served by British Airways with a Boeing 747 aircraft back in the 1990s. This time around, the company’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner will be given the mission of flying to Durban on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays with a next day return. The service’s schedule looks like:

  • Beginning October 30, Icelandair’s Boeing 737MAX 8 will be tasked with opening up the company’s new route from Reykjavík, Iceland, to Dusseldorf, Germany. The flight will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with the following schedule:

FI578 KEF 07:40-12:00 DUS / FI579 DUS 13:00-15:40 KEF


  • Beginning November 1, Alitalia will utilize its Airbus A330-200 aircraft to open flights between Milan, Italy, and Male, Maldives. The route is still subject to government approval. However, if it does get the green light to fly, the twice weekly service will operate on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with a next day return. The route will operate with the following schedule:

  • Beginning November 7, Germania will begin a new once-weekly service connecting Bremen, Germany, with La Palma of the Canary Islands. The company’s Airbus A319 will operate on Wednesdays with the following schedule:

ST3154 BRE 09:00-13:15 SPC / ST3155 SPC 14:00-19:55 BRE


  • Beginning December 19, American Airlines will be utilizing it’s Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner for the winter season between Dallas-Fort Worth and Cancun, Mexico. The daily service operates with the following schedule:

AA2684 DFW 12:50-16:34 CUN / AA2684 CUN 17:43-19:40 DFW


  • Beginning December 23, Air Transat will commence operations between Montreal, Canada, and San Juan, Puerto Rico. The route is scheduled to operate between December 23 and April 28 for the winter season. Boeing 737-800 aircraft will fly the route on Sundays only, with the following schedule:

TS640 YUL 07:10-13:00 SJU / TS641 SJU 14:00-18:15 YUL


  • Air Transat will also be connecting Toronto, Canada, to San Juan, Puerto Rico. The company’s Boeing 737-700 will operate the route on Sundays only between December 23 and April 28, much like that of the Montreal service. The link to Toronto will operate with the following schedule:
